So how does the month you pick impact your photoshoot?

First, let’s talk about the good old golden hour. Every photographer’s dream and every bedtime routine's worst night. It’s funny as a Mum I ABSOLUTELY get the bedtime routine situation. When my oldest was younger he had such a strict bedtime that we protected at all costs. BUTTT as a photographer I know just how special and critical light is to create stunning images.

So from a technical point, the golden hour is the last hour before sunset, when the sun is low, the shadows are soft and the glow is magic!

But what if you want that golden hour glow without completely disrupting your little one’s nighttime routine?? Then maybe autumn or even winter sessions could be for you! As we know with the shift in sun position and daylight savings we see a big shift in the sunset times in Melbourne during the cooler months. So here is a little chart I popped together to show the different sunset times by month.
